(SAN FRANCISCO) — Concerns by the Coast Guard about fire safety led Google to halt construction of its mystery barges, Engadget reported. The barges, two of which were being built in San Francisco and Portland, Maine, were designed to serve as technology showrooms. But the Coast Guard raised issues with the vessels' design, questioning safety in the event of an emergency.
