Federal stimulus money to pay for new Savannah River ferry

(SAVANNAH, Ga.) — The federal economic stimulus program will pay $1 million toward the acquisition of a new Savannah River ferry, the television station WTOC reported. The new vessel, with a capacity of 150 passengers, will be larger than Savannah’s existing boats. Delivery is expected in 2011.
