Fallen container results in radiation scare at Halifax terminal

(HALIFAX, Nova Scotia) — A container of nuclear material that fell from a cargo ship Thursday is not leaking radiation, officials told the Herald News. The crew of Atlantic Companion was evacuated as a precaution after the shipping container holding four cylinders of uranium hexafluoride fell about 20 feet. The ship is owned by Atlantic Container Line (ACL).
