Mid-Atlantic Maritime Academy’s Maritime Job Fair on March 30 brings together an unprecedented collection of some of the biggest names in government, military support and private sectors.

For the people of Hampton Roads, it provides a one-stop, free opportunity to engage with employers who are actively in need of workers. According to Raymond Blanchet, Vice President of Operations for the Mid-Atlantic Maritime Academy, “This job fair is unlike any held previously due to the new job demands being driven by the new green initiatives, especially the explosive growth of the offshore wind industry. From installation vessels to crew transfer vessels they will all require U.S. Merchant Mariners. And there will be major employers here that need mariners now .”

Over 20 companies plan to attend, ranging from local operators that keep the Port of Virginia running smoothly to offshore, global, and federal employers that make up critical links in the supply chain and military support operations—as well as the shipyards and contractors that keep these vessels operating.
