(PORT AUX BASQUES, Newfoundland) — A cargo ship was disabled by an engine room fire Tuesday as the vessel transited the Cabot Strait, CBC News reported. Thorco Crown, with 13 crewmembers aboard, was en route from Montreal to Argentia when it issued a mayday call. The fire has been extinguished and a Canadian Coast Guard ship is on the scene. Thorco Crown is scheduled to be towed to port on Wednesday.
