(BALTIMORE) — Eighteen crewmembers from MT Newlead Granadino have been stranded in Baltimore for nearly six weeks, and are reportedly catching fish to stave off hunger and drinking condensed water from an air conditioner. The Baltimore Sun reported the Malta-flagged tanker stayed in Baltimore Harbor after the Coast Guard deemed the vessel too dangerous to sail. The Greek shipper that owns the vessel is apparently unable to pay the estimated $1 million for engine work and other needed repairs.
