(PANAMA CITY, Fla.) — Partnering with OneBlood, Eastern Shipbuilding Group hosted a blood drive at its Allanton facility on April 14 and 15, and at its Nelson Street facility on April 21 and 22. Eastern employees donated 118 units of blood, a signicant contribution as the region and the country faces COVID-19.
OneBlood collects donations across Florida and southern Georgia and Alabama, serving hundreds hospitals and health care centers across the same region with life-saving blood.
Bob Babb, ESG’s manager of human resources, worked with OneBlood’s Amy Walker and planned the blood drive at Eastern. The success of this drive and previous drives at Eastern make it a top producer for overall donated blood units in northwest Florida. Eastern would like to thank everyone that contributed during this critical time.
