Documents show Carnival knew of fire danger before ill-fated cruise

(MIAMI) — Company documents show that Carnival Cruise Lines knew about a generator fire hazard aboard Carnival Triumph more than a year before fire disabled the ship last February, CNN reported. More than 4,000 passengers and crewmembers were stranded on what's now known as the "poop cruise" after the ship's power was knocked out. It drifted for four days without air conditioning and largely without lights, water, food and working toilets before it could be towed to Mobile, Ala.
