Dive teams still evaluating prospects for salvaging Monarch, fuel

(NIKISKI, Alaska) — Dive teams are still evaluating the potential for salvaging the sunken supply vessel Monarch, the Fort Mill Times newspaper reported. Officials from the state of Alaska and Monarch operator Ocean Marine Services Inc. are also still formulating a plan to remove 34,000 gallons of fuel from the vessel. Monarch is in 86 feet of water next to Granite Point platform.
