The following is text of a news release from the U.S. Coast Guard:
(NEW ORLEANS) — The Coast Guard is responding to a partially submerged vessel at the Port of Rosedale, Miss., on Wednesday.
Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River watch standers received a notification at 8:43 a.m. about the uninspected towing vessel Joyce Marie partially submerged by the stern where it is moored at the Port of Rosedale.
Approximately 500 gallons of fuel and lube oil are reported on board.
An estimated 20 gallons of diesel entered the water. Enhanced Emergency and Environmental Response has deployed boom and secured the fuel vents to mitigate the spread.
There are no reports of damage, injury or hazards to navigation.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
