(HAMBURG, Germany) (Sept. 12) — Today at the SMM exhibition in Hamburg, the world’s largest maritime trade fair, Davie announced the appointment of a new worldwide agency network focused on ship repair and conversion. Agents for Canada’s largest shipyard are now located in the USA, UK, Scandinavia, Germany, Benelux, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Singapore and Japan.
Alan Bowen, CEO of Davie, commented, “Our new worldwide agency network ensures we are represented in these important shipowning and ship operating hubs. In November 2014, our 351-metre-long dry dock will be fully available for ship repair activities for the first time in eight years. With lower costs than most European shipyards, Davie provides a competitive ship repair offering for domestic and international shipowners.”
Davie’s Champlain dry dock is one of the largest on the East coast of North America and is strategically located close to the major Atlantic trading routes as well as the Great Lakes.
Davie can now also provide ship repair services on the West coast of Canada from its office in Victoria, British Columbia, using the Canadian government-owned Esquimalt dry dock.
