(SAN FRANCISCO) — A U.S. appeals court has rejected California’s limits on ship emissions, the Los Angeles Times reported. State officials had imposed new regulations governing freight and cruise ships to reduce smog. The court says they must now seek federal approval for any new limits that exceed existing Environmental Protection Agency standards.
