(VANCOUVER, British Columbia) — The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is investigating after a containership docking at the Port of Vancouver on Monday struck a gantry crane, causing it to collapse onto the loaded ship, The Globe and Mail reported.
The TSB said the ship, Ever Summit, and crane were damaged in the incident, but no injuries were reported.
A spokeswoman for Global Container Terminals Vanterm said two tugboats were holding the ship against the dock to ensure it does not shift, possibly causing further damage.
A spokeswoman for the Port of Vancouver said a pilot with BC Coast Pilots was aboard Ever Summit when it hit the crane.
