Commissioners reject 6 percent pay raise for Puget Sound Pilots

(SEATTLE) — The Washington Board of Pilotage Commissioners has rejected a rate increase request from the Puget Sound Pilots for the first time in five years, the Puget Sound Business Journal newspaper reported. The pilots had asked for a 6 percent raise. The commissioners said no, citing financial conditions and sacrifices endured by other mariners and port customers.
