Commercial vessel captains join navies’ anti-piracy forces (PHOTO)

(NORTHWOOD HEADQUARTERS, England) — The navies coordinating to help thwart Somali pirates are using high-tech vessels to identify potential problem boats, Reuters reported via Yahoo! News. The U.S. says 30 to 40 warships from several nations are dedicated to interdicting the maritime pirates. Tanker, cruise ship and freighter captains on loan from their companies are acting as liaisons.
