(FORT MYERS, Fla.) — At the opening of the 2014 National Marine Electronics Association Conference & Expo at the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa in Fort Myers, Fla., today, McMurdo announced the appointment of ComMar Sales to represent the company’s range of emergency position indicating radio beacons (EPIRBs), personal locator beacons (PLBs) and automatic identification system (AIS) MOB devices on the U.S. East Coast.
McMurdo opened its Americas headquarters, U.S. warehouse and distribution center in Beltsville, Md., in September. Local assembly, light manufacturing and repair services will begin at this facility in 2015.

McMurdo EPIRBs
The compact McMurdo Smartfind Plus G5 GPS EPIRB features a high performance, multi-channel GPS which brings the location accuracy down to typically less than 62 meters, greatly increasing the chances of rescue in an emergency situation. McMurdo AIS search and rescue transponders (SART) or beacons
