(MOHAWK NATION OF AKWESASNE) — Two Akwesasne boaters are severely injured after a U.S. Coast Guard patrol boat collided with their vessel during a law-enforcement pursuit in the St. Lawrence River, the Standard Freeholder newspaper of Cornwall, Ontario, reported. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police originally were chasing the boat, and the U.S. Coast Guard boat picked up the chase as the men fled toward the U.S. side of the river. One of the boaters is paralyzed, and four Coast Guard crew were treated for minor injuries following the collision.
