(NEW ORLEANS) — The U.S. Coast Guard is scheduled to host a career day event in Morgan City, La., on Saturday.
The event is open to the public and provides an opportunity for attendees to learn more about Coast Guard missions, explore the service’s many career paths, meet with local Coast Guard personnel, and learn about the updated requirements and guidelines for joining the Coast Guard.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at 800 Youngs Road in Morgan City.
The day will include a tour of multiple Coast Guard assets including two Coast Guard cutters and an opportunity to watch the landing and takeoff of a Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter.
Personnel will be attending from Coast Guard cutter Axe, Coast Guard cutter Skipjack, Coast Guard Maritime Safety and Security Team New Orleans, Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans, Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Morgan City, Coast Guard Aids to Navigation Team Morgan City, and Coast Guard Recruiting Office New Orleans.
