Coast Guard seeks $96M repayment for faulty patrol boats

The Coast Guard is seeking $96.1 million in repayments from Integrated Coast Guard Systems after the company delivered eight 123-foot boats that were structurally unsound, Reuters reported. The patrol vessels were decommissioned and cannot be used, because they experienced hull deformation and deck buckling. The Coast Guard said the work by ICGS, a joint venture of Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman, failed to comply with the requirements of the contract.
