Coast Guard petty officer killed during maritime anti-terror exercise

(NEW YORK) — A Coast Guard petty officer was killed when he fell overboard during an anti-terrorism exercise in Chesapeake Bay, the New York Daily News reported. The crewman had disembarked a 25-foot boat and grabbed ahold of a ladder alongside a cutter when he fell. The Coast Guard is investigating whether his personal floatation device inflated properly.
