Coast Guard officer relieved of command after grounding of cutter

(PORTLAND, Maine) — A U.S. Coast Guard officer has been temporarily relieved of his command after the grounding of a cutter last month, the Portland Press Herald reported. Senior Chief Petty Officer Christopher Bouchard was relieved of his duties “for loss of confidence in the ability to command,” the Coast Guard said. The 87-foot Moray sustained hull damage when it ran aground Feb. 20 on Petit Manan Point.
