(NEW ORLEANS) — The U.S. Coast Guard Towing Vessel National Center of Expertise has granted to Sabine Surveyors Ltd. the authority to conduct all audit and survey services required by 46 CFR Subchapter M. These regulations are intended to have owners and operators of previously uninspected towing vessels come into compliance with new, stronger safety requirements. As a third-party organization (TPO), Sabine has unrestricted approval to conduct TSMS audits, issue TSMS certificates, conduct surveys of towing vessels, and issue survey reports required prior to the issuance of certificates of inspection (COI).
