Canadian donors assist 8 seafarers stranded on tug at Halifax

(HALIFAX) — Canadians have donated food, water, clothing and money to assist the eight seafarers stranded on a tugboat at Halifax, CTV News reported. The Craig-Trans is stuck in Halifax after Transport Canada found the Bolivian-flagged, New Jersey-owned vessel to be in unacceptable condition. Seven of the crew are from Hondoras and one is from El Salvador. Money is being raised to fly them home to Central America, but the vessel owner urges them to stay with the boat while it is being repaired.
