Canada's FedNav orders 6 new oceangoing bulk carriers

(MONTREAL) — Canada's FedNav Ltd. said it is ordering six new oceangoing bulk carriers, which will be the new flagships of its fleet, Canadian Transportation & Logistics reported. The environmentally advanced vessels, destined for Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway trade, will be constructed at Japan's Oshima Shipyard. They will call at terminals including Hamilton, Cleveland, Milwaukee and Burns Harbor, plus other Great Lakes ports including Duluth/Superior, Thunder Bay, Detroit and Toledo, and then worldwide.
