Canada to spend $35B on new navy, icebreaking, Arctic ships

(OTTAWA) — The Canadian government plans to spend $35 billion over 30 years to build new ships, Canwest News Service reported. Many of the new ships will support newly opened Arctic navigation, including icebreakers and coast guard vessels. Officials said it’s enough work to keep virtually all Canadian shipyards busy for several years.
