(MONTREAL) — Canadian authorities have detained a ship after a crewman reported that it illegally dumped oily waste, the Globe and Mail newspaper reported. The third engineer said he witnessed the dumping of around 25 tons of bilge into the Atlantic Ocean near Newfoundland. The crewman may have lost his job with the MSC Trinidad, which is being detained at Montreal.
