(LONDON) — BP Plc’s containment cap is capturing 11,100 barrels of oil per day from the Gulf of Mexico riser, Reuters reported. Company officials now say the system potentially could divert as much as 90 percent of the crude spilling from the well. BP also has announced its plan explaining how it would continue to divert the oil in the event of a hurricane.
