Beier Radio, Sentinel Controls move to new facility on Gulf Coast

(GRAY, La.)  — Beier Radio LLC and Sentinel Controls have relocated operations to a new facility in Gray, La., along the bustling central Gulf Coast near Houma. In addition, Beier Radio’s corporate office for administration and sales has moved from Belle Chasse to Mandeville, La., north of New Orleans.

The move consolidates Beier Radio’s engineering, service, parts and training departments, and Sentinel’s manufacturing operations, at the new Gray campus, putting the companies in closer proximity to Port Fourchon, the intermodal port of choice for much of the central Gulf energy activity. The new facility is located along U.S. Highway 90, providing both Beier Radio and Sentinel with more efficient access to their marine clients for equipment design, installation and service.

Beier Radio is a worldwide supplier of integrated vessel control and management systems. The Beier IVCS 4000 Series dynamic positioning systems and IVMS 2000 Series vessel management systems provide the highest degree of reliability, lowest cost of ownership and maintenance, highest user friendliness and highest functionality. Sentinel Controls, the manufacturing division of Beier Radio, designs and manufactures high quality control and instrumentation products and systems used for vessel management, steering, cargo loading and unloading, navigation light panels, shaft tachometers, engine controls and thruster controls.

“Our new, technologically advanced facility in Gray symbolizes Beier Radio’s commitment to growth and delivering products and services to our customers that meet the demands of the challenging marine environment,” says owner Karl Beier. “This new location is just another added benefit for Beier Radio and Sentinel customers, putting us much closer to the shipyards and boat companies that support deepwater oil and gas development. We can quickly reach our clients for design, installation, service and repair, meaning shorter downtimes for our clients and timely resumption of their work on the water.”

In January 2014, Beier Radio opened the Marine Training Institute at the Gray facility, offering DP and ECDIS certification for mariners utilizing computer simulation technology. A new warehouse is also being constructed at the site with completion anticipated for this fall. Once all construction is complete, the new campus will house 50 employees and include 36,000 square feet of building space on 20 acres.

Beier Radio’s new corporate office in Mandeville includes 15 employees in management, accounting and sales. For more information, visit BeierRadio.com.
