(VICTORIA, British Columbia) — Proposed modifications for BC Ferries' two Spirit-class vessels, including adding LNG capability, could reach $60 million, The Vancouver Sun reported. The upgrades to the 550-foot Spirit of British Columbia and Spirit of Vancouver Island are scheduled for 2016 and 2017. Several shipyards on the coast are interested in the work, said George MacPherson, president of the B.C. Shipyard General Workers' Federation.
