Barge with 1M gallons of gasoline runs aground in Columbia River

(HOOD RIVER, Ore.) — A barge carrying 1 million gallons of gasoline ran aground in the Columbia River, the Oregonian newspaper reported. Tidewater Barge Lines towboat The Chief was propelling the barge New Dawn when it grounded. The Coast Guard says the tow is outside the channel, but Tidewater officials claim it is still in the channel.
