(GREENWICH, Conn.) — A barge broke free from its mooring in Stamford on Wednesday and ran aground in Old Greenwich, cracking its hull, the Greenwich Time reported. A commercial diver was making repairs to the 100-by-40-foot deck barge on Thursday afternoon before an attempt was made to refloat it. Thornton Marine of Staten Island, N.Y., was hired to salvage the vessel, which police said was being used by the Rubino Brothers scrap yard.
