(NEW ORLEANS) — A decommissioned barge caught fire while being dismantled on the Industrial Canal, the Times-Picayune newspaper reported. The blaze broke out at Southern Scrap after safety netting inside the vessel ignited. A fire boat was delayed in arriving because of a mechanical problem at a lock and bridge.
