(BALTIMORE) — The first of a new fleet of water taxis to serve the city of Baltimore has been delivered, the Baltimore Business Journal reported. The new 55-foot vessels, owned by Sagamore Ventures and built by Maritime Applied Physics Corp., pay homage to the classic Chesapeake Bay deadrise boats in their design. The vessels can carry 49 passengers and feature wireless Internet and cellphone chargers. Sagamore expects the delivery of seven more new water taxis by the end of next year.
