B.C. soliciting bids for four new cable ferries

(VICTORIA, British Columbia) — The province's Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure is soliciting bids to build four new cable ferries, the Times Colonist reported. The inland waterway vessels will replace three built in the 1940s and a fourth that went into service in 1996. At least two British Columbia shipyards have expressed interest in the work.
