As Cota exits prison, Calif. pilots still not tested for prescribed drugs

(SAN FRANCISCO) — California officials are looking into whether bar pilots should be tested for prescription drugs, the San Francisco Examiner newspaper reported. San Francisco Bar Pilot Capt. John Cota was released from prison this week after serving his sentence in the Cosco Busan case. The San Francisco area’s Board of Pilot Comissioners says a committee is investigating whether the pilots should be tested for pharmaceuticals.
