Truckable tugboats emerge as versatile option as regulatory, construction costs rise

Arc Boat Co. is retrofitting a 26-foot tug in a new partnership with Diversified Marine shipyard in Portland, Ore. “Tugs run short, repetitive missions requiring high torque, and start and end at the same home base,” Arc Boat Co. said in a press release. “Not only does that make them well suited to going electric, but doing so drastically reduces operating expenses.”
