The following is the text of a news release from the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers:
(ALEXANDRIA, Va.) — The SNAME Annual Meeting & Expo has been renamed the SNAME Maritime Convention (SMC), to further address relevant issues across the maritime industry, including ship production, repair, and operations, as well as suppliers and supply chain management.
There will continue to be a Ship Production Symposium (SPS) element to the SMC with separate agenda tracks for SPS-oriented papers, and NSRP will continue to work with SNAME in coordinating this aspect of the meeting (Oct. 22-24 in Houston).
Important dates for authors:
· SPS Abstract Submission Deadline: Tuesday, June 3, 2014
· SPS Abstract Acceptance Notification: Tuesday, June 24, 2014
