(BLOODSWORTH ISLAND, Md.) — Twenty-two people were rescued after their tour boat sank Wednesday in Chesapeake Bay, DelMarVa Now reported. The U.S. Coast Guard received a mayday call at about 1800 hours from the 40-foot Karen N., which was carrying students and teachers and is owned by the nonprofit Chesapeake Bay Foundation. A commercial fishing boat responded and brought all 22 people aboard, five with injuries. A Coast Guard spokesman said Karen N. was operating in an area that is prohibited due to obstructions in the water.
