Two crewman with staph infection sue vessel owner for $2M

(GALVESTON, Texas) — Two seamen who allegedly contracted a staph infection from their vessel are suing their employer for $2 million, the Southeast Texas Record legal newspaper of Beaumont, Texas, reported. The two men were on the Jones Act crew aboard the Cheryl K when many of the personnel came down with staph infection symptoms. Cheryl K Inc. is accused of general maritime negligence, unseaworthiness and failure to pay maintenance and cure.
