(CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas) — The Coast Guard medevaced a crewmember from an oil tanker eight miles south of Port Aransas, Texas, on Tuesday morning.
Sector/Air Station Corpus Christi watch standers were contacted by the ship's agent of Minerva Julie, a 600-foot oil tanker, requesting the medevac of an injured crewmember. Watch standers consulted the duty flight surgeon who recommended a medevac.
A Sector/Air Station MH-65 Dolphin helicopter air crew was launched, arrived on scene, and transferred the crewmember to Christus Spohn Hospital Shoreline in Corpus Christi.
The man was reported in stable condition.
