(NEW YORK) — The South Street Seaport Museum's future is in doubt as a crucial backer has pulled out, the New York Times reported. The Museum of the City of New York has decided it can no longer operate the museum, which has been closed since April due to electrical damage from Hurricane Sandy. An official at Connecticut's Mystic Seaport said a long-term closure of the New York seaport museum would be "a real blow to maritime history."
