Position: Part-Time Instructor Offshore Wind Training-Maritime Center for Responsible Energy

General Statement of Duties: Serve as Instructor for all Global Wind Organization (GWO) courses. Maintain all relevant safety equipment and training aids. Participate in relevant audits and maintain compliance with GWO standards. Participate in setup and close out of course sessions. Support other Maritime Center for Responsible Energy programs as needed.
Offshore Wind Training:
•Serve as Lead Instructor for Global Wind Organization (GWO) training modules
•Inspect and maintain all course equipment including fall protection equipment, immersion suits, PFDs, life raft and rescue, and evacuation gear.
•Set up and break down facilities before and after class.
•Inspect all equipment and maintain records of the same
•Work with affiliated organizations to maintain compliance
•Participate in required Audits and inspections
•Train and evaluate Instructors
Employee may be required to participate in a random drug testing program.
Qualifications and Requirements
•Minimum 100 hours of teaching experience in adult education
•Experience with working at heights or technical rescue
•First Aid training
Physical requirements:
•Must be comfortable working at heights and capable of climbing ladders, performing rescue, descending while suspended from rescue device
•Must be able to swim
•Must weigh less than 275lbs in order not to exceed rating of fall protection equipment
Preferred Qualifications
•Global Wind Organization Basic Safety Training
•First Responder, EMT, Paramedic or Firefighter
•Wind energy technician
•USCG License, Master 25 Tons near coastal or higher
•CPR/ First Aid Instructor
Salary: $42/hour
Supervision Received: Assistant Director, Maritime Center for Responsible Energy
