(NEW LONDON, Conn.) — The U.S. Coast Guard Academy (CGA) continues to be recognized as one of the best institutions for undergraduate education in the nation. According to the U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges 2015 publication rankings, the academy is listed as No. 1 in the "Regional Colleges North" category. In the "Best in Undergraduate Engineering Programs" category, the institution placed No. 12 in the annual publication known as one of the oldest and best-known rankings of academic institutions.

The academy was included in the “America’s Top Colleges” list by Forbes magazine. To determine its rankings, Forbes partners with the Center for College Affordability and Productivity in Washington, D.C., to examine return on investment and what students are getting out of college. Forbes ranked the academy No. 4 on its "Best Value College" list, and listed the institution among the top 25 best public colleges.

CGA was also included in the Princeton Review’s annual college guide, “The Best 378 Colleges,” which does not rank order institutions. Only about 15 percent of the nation’s four-year schools are included in this annual publication, which has featured the academy in its “Stone Cold Sober Schools” list for many years.

As one of the smallest of the five federal service academies, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy offers a quality higher education experience that emphasizes leadership, physical fitness and professional development. Cadets here devote themselves to an honor concept and go directly into positions of leadership in service to others.
