Fire on barge-mounted 'flotel' injures 5 Gulf spill workers (PHOTO)

 
Blaze started in mess hall; injuries mostly smoke inhalation
(7/22/2010)
(NEW ORLEANS) -- Five Gulf spill response workers were injured when a fire broke out in a 'flotel' in Baptiste Collette Bayou, the Times-Picayune newspaper reported. The blaze broke out in the mess hall of the floating, segmented temporary housing in Plaquemines Parish. The 'flotel' is constructed out of shipping containers stacked on a barge.
